RSS feeds are widely used to bring updated news and information to our desktops. FeedDemon is one such newsreader which can extract information from various news channels and deliver the updated content to our desktop. It costs around $29 and the entire setup of FeedDemon starting from downloading the software to running up the installation does not go beyond a few minutes. One can access the data from several news channels in the real time using this software. The creator and vendor of this software is Bradbury software who should be given a pat for coming with such a concept which would encourage enthusiasts to have real time news online on their desktops delivered.
Using the setup wizard in FeedDemon one could subscribe to literally hundreds of feeds from several news channels. All that they need to do in this simplified setup process is to just put a tick mark beside each and every feed name that is displayed out to have subscription to these news feeds. Not just those feeds, one could even subscribe to several other feeds from the internet not listed in the setup process of FeedDemon and have it included in their favorites.
The interface of FeedDemon requires a special mention as it is quite unique and good looking one. There is a drawback in the default setting of its interface. In the default setup, the headline of the news channel is placed next to the browser pane and looks a bit clumsy. It in fact is not a good idea, as it requires one to frequently scroll down to read the entire content in the news. But due to the customizable tool bar facility, one could easily drag down or relocate the browser to the bottom of the window using the pull down menu in the view menu.
